A great important deed is done: lately Volodymyr, a participant of the «Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded» project, has undergone a major surgery. In the course of it the doctors restored the cruciate ligament of the knee having applied the autoreconstructive technology. The preliminary information is rather appeasing: it seems everything went well. Now Volodymyr is getting better after the surgery, and in a few days he will be able to go home. For certain period of time the man will have to walk using his crutches until his ligaments have fused in and strengthened. Later, following the controlling check-up, the doctors will decide on the man’s prospective: it will either be about certain additional correction or official completion of the whole course of treatment.
Volodymyr is both a humble and an outstanding person at the same time. Born in Cherkasy region, Volodymyr has been always working on the land. Still he did not hesitate a minute to join the army, even despite his status of a many-children father: while on military service, he became a father for the eighth time! By the way, Volodymyr’s eldest son is now serving in the ATO zone as well. And the man himself says: as soon as he has recuperated, he is going to come back to the forefront to fight until the victorious end.
Volodymyr got injured on the forefront: the man served in artillery, in the large caliber gun maintenance unit. Each time when he had to load the leg, jumping into a trench or lifting some heavy-weight stuff, Volodymyr was continuously injuring the knee. The disaster happened under an enemy shelling when Volodymyr rushed to the shelter, twisted his leg badly and finally torn the main ligaments of the knee. In hospitals where the man applied to complaining of a constant acute pain in the knee, they failed to help. For some reason, doctors neglected his fresh injury and treated the consequences of an old trauma caused by a car accident that had taken place about five years ago. The medics removed an old orthopedic plate, broke one of the fixing screws and just released the man from the hospital. Time passed but Volodymyr did not feel any better: on the contrary, he started to limp more and more. That is why the man applied to the Biotech: the chief surgeon of the Project, Volodymyr Oksymets’s skills guaranteed him maximum chances for complete recovery. The team of doctors of the Project removed the remnants of the screw and carried out complete examination including the MRI test; then they scheduled a surgery and magnificently performed it.
Volodymyr’s treatment cost constituted rather a moderate amount: nearly 90 thousand hryvnias. But it was an ordeal to get the necessary sum as the major part of the money was raised by a girl named Myroslava. He herself is overcoming the consequences of a severe illness; yet recently she managed to make her very first steps on her own feet. Still she felt exceptionally sympathetic to Volodymyr’s suffering: despite her own problems the girl managed to raise the necessary sum and pass it to the Biotech’s account very fast. Another part of the cost was paid by the People’s Project at the expense of contributions; the next part of payment is still to be paid when Volodymyr is back on his own two legs.
