Just recently a patient of The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Evgen received a surgery to restore a broken right forearm. During a long and hard surgery, doctors of The Ilaya Clinic rebuilt patient’s right forearm of the fragments, formed the recipient bed of the bone and set the fragments into the position, where they have to stay after merging with help of cellular materials. The bone and it’s fragments were fixed using using fixation plates.
Difficult surgery was performed by Volodymyr Oksymets himself
Further plan of the treatment will be adjusted in a half of a month. Then the Evgen will have another medical review scheduled. By that time a new bone should be formed. From now on patient have a few days of postoperative pain and recovery at home ahead. The treatment was paid completely thanks to the people’s help. Near 650 thousand UAH were collected and paid by volunteers of The People’s Project at the expense of people’s donations for the last month and a half.
The horrible condition of the bones of the left forearm before the surgery
The Eugene is a young scout who was injured in July of 2016 in a fierce battle with Ukraine’s enemy marines near the Novozvanivka. When the enemy realized that the positions are lost, they covered the battlefield with a powerful artillery fire. The close explosion seriously wounded man’s both hands. Right shoulder was ruined, both forearm bones were smashed and fingers were broken. Its a wonder, but even with such a hard injuries Evgen was trying to help his collegues, until he was brought out of the fire by force.
Evgen in pain after one more surgery
Unfortunately, the Evgen is not the last patient of The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Project. Just recently, few new guys have joined the project. And now they are waiting for their turn with the others. Just because of the physiological reasons for many wounded treatment process is really time sensitive.
The treatment for all patients require substantial funds, even despite the significant discounts from The Ilaya Clinic. Government’s bureaucratic obstacles does not allow to finance such treatment from the country budget. For most of the wounded defenders of Ukraine cellular technologies is the last resort for a recovery. The wounded soldiers have a chance to get back to normal only with a help of the donations collected through The People’s Project.
