The occupiers strengthen their military presence and amass armed forces near Kerch. The latest video shared on the web, shows Bal Coastal Defense Missile System being carried out within a military convoy toward the city along the Simferopol-Kerch highway. In addition, according to Russian military, new S 400 surface to air missiles are to be deployed in Crimea following the training exercises. The new S-400 systems will be operational by the end of the year.
The Bal systems are equipped with eight KH-35 cruise anti-ship missiles capable of hitting ships with displacement tonnages up to 5,000 tons at a distance of up to 20 kilometers. Every launcher in the Bal coastal defense missile system carries 8 KH-35 anti-ship cruise missiles equipped with 145 kg High Explosive Fragmentation warheads. The KH-35 has a range of 130–260 km (depending on the modification) and is efficient against frigates and smaller destroyers. The Kh-35 has inertial navigation system with active radar homing on the terminal stage of its flight. This missile travels 10-15 meters above the surface. The radar seeker has a range of 20 km and guides the missile onto its target. In the terminal stage of the flight the missile descends to 3-5 meters above the surface in order to overcome hostile defense systems.
Therefore, Russians have been systematically turning the occupied peninsula into an uncrackable military bulwark and springboard for further combat activities. In view of this, we should not miss the moment and take care of our own security. Within the Rapid Response initiative, People’s Project Volunteer center has been raising funds to buy necessary equipment for our military. Sometimes it is ammunition and essential gear for the units that are holding defense in the forefront. Sometimes it is just plain everyday stuff required for re-equipping their positions or arranging their living amenities. Kopeck by kopeck, we provide them with necessary things and thus strengthen our Army quite considerably. Dear friends, please join in – to win this war we need to keep together and share our efforts, as the victory depends on each of us!
