Russia’s defense minister announced an unprecedented move. According to the russian army chief Sergey Shoigu – whom one should rather refer to as the minister of assault and aggression – a massive military exercise is to be held in the country – the biggest one since 1981, the Cold War era. As planned, nearly 300,000 Russian troops, 1,000 aircraft and 900 tanks will participate in the exercise called Vostok-2018 (East-2018). The drills will take place on testing grounds in central and eastern Russian military districts from Sept. 11-15. Apart from military hardware and personnel, two of Russia’s naval fleets, and all of its airborne units will join the drills.
As is widely recognized, Russia is rich in cannon fodder. And it spreads it all over the globe quite generously
It is not that we are aiming to startle you by presenting the situation worse than it is. We don’t say they may turn back and head to attack Ukraine. Apart from Ukraine, Russia has enough both tidbits and sworn friends in the East: there has been much talk on the threat of Russian occupation in Kazakhstan; similarly, from the East, the enormous and powerful Chinese army has been closely watching over the Russian boundaries with gloomy estimation – not to mention their powerful economic expansion that has been already on resulting in developing major part of the eastern Russia’s lands. What is next? The future is beyond any predictions so far.
Today it is the army of Russia, and tomorrow it will be Putin’s nameless “green men”. They have already occupied the Ukrainian Crimea and partially Donbas. Can we afford to thoughtlessly overlook the least, even theoretical, threat?
Unfortunately, we have been living in the state of an undeclared war against Russia, with our land partially occupied by Russians, for the fifth consecutive year. Accordingly, our military forces are definitely ready to any escalation and able to resist the enemy even in the case of open military aggression on their part. And as long as the trench war continues and the enemy has been still encroaching on our land, we can join in and participate in its destroying to make the moment of our homeland’s complete liberation closer.
For instance, now we are in the process of purchasing and transferring thermal imaging scopes and other useful gear to our military fighting in the forefront
It is the main purpose of the People’s Project volunteer center’s initiative Rapid Response within which we collect the funds sent us by sympathetic citizens and buy necessary equipment for our military. We mean the stuff that the state either fails to supply in time or just cannot provide the troops in the forefront with. Still this gear is able of saving lives and allows fighting as equals with the russian slaughterers and occupiers armed with the latest weaponry. That is why we urge you to help.
Even in the field conditions these fighters are closely watching the enemy. To help them is our duty
Actually, right now we are raising funds to buy voltage inverters for the unit engaged in radio interceptions: these guys monitor the enemy’s radio spectrum ready to warn of any existing schemes of aggression beforehand. They need our assistance to prevent their specific equipment from damage caused by voltage surge in the frontline power grid.
Hence, we invite you to participation once again: may we remind you that this is the kind of our common work which is better to get done in the relatively peaceful time than leave pending until the moment of real escalation if this happens. As to win this war we need to combine our efforts and stand all together as one.
