A week ago, through the introduction of stem cell tissue material in the form of bone chips, Оlexandr underwent surgery for the replacement of his heel bone defect. In addition, cellular material was used to treat the scar tissue on his foot.
Оlexandr is now in good spirits, hoping for a positive result, and іs already dreaming of dancing with his girl!

We remind readers that Оlexandr had severe shrapnel wounds to his left foot with 75% loss of his calcaneus.
This is one of the most technologically complex cases in our project. During treatment of the fighter, doctors of ilaya Medical Company had gradually moved the heel bone fragment to its normal position, removed subluxation of the forefoot and created conditions for the normalization of blood circulation and sensitivity of the foot. Plastic surgery to transplant a graft on the leg was also performed. And now comes replacement of the bone defect. In 1.5 months we will know the results!
Previously, before being enrolled in the Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded project Оlexandr had undergone 17 operations on his leg, and was threatened with amputation several times. To get into the project the soldier was helped by volunteers and funds needed for treatment costs to the amount of 339 347 UAH were collected by The People’s Project – Ukrainian nationwide volunteer center .
