It is not for the first time that we publish news filled with sincere gratitude to Ukrainians living abroad. Some time ago, the Ukrainian diaspora in Spain considerably supported our patient Serhiy and his comrades within and even beyond our Project. The citizens were accumulating money throughout their parishes and sent it to People’s Project to enable the completion of difficult treatment course for the patients within the Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded project.
Now, we are going to thank the Ukrainians living in Canada. Lately, young Petro who had struck a landmine and nearly lost his leg, has transferred to the Biotech’s account the amount of 50 thousand hryvnias. These funds will allow to make full payment for the third course of the guy’s treatment. The fundraising was initiated by the Ukrainian Credit Union of Canada with personal support of Ms. Kateryna Lytvyniuk, Mr. Roman Mlynko and Mr. Mykhaylo Zinchuk (as long as Mr. Mykhaylo has no accounts in any social networks, Petro asked to mention the page owned by his wife, Mrs. Svitlana). Thanks to these wonderful people’s efforts the sum amounted to USD 2.000 and was handed to Petro in person by Mr. Yuriy Lipar, volunteer at Halytski Surmy NGO, during his visit into clinic.
Petro himself has now been restoring after one of the most inconvenient stages of his treatment. The thing is, recently the guy had to spent a couple of months literally hobbled like a horse: in this way, the doctors of the Project transplanted the soft tissues from his healthy to the bad leg to maximally recompense the soft tissue defect and form a new complete foot. At the moment, Petro is recovering and at the same time getting prepared for the next stage of treatment during which the doctors will restore the bone structure of the leg.
This was the initial condition of Petro’s leg from where the surgeons had to start restoration
There is no need to dwell on Petro’s entire dramatic and tense story which you can read if you follow the link. Let us just remind you that the guy’s further treatment as well as complete rehabilitation course will require more money. That is why we urge you to join in, dear friends, as we can arrange and pay for costly treatment of the heavily wounded fighters with application of unique medical technologies at the expense of charitable donations solely. It is your kind contributions that give the wounded guys hope for further recovery and comeback to complete life. So please join in because your help is essential!
