The saga of “yellow suitcases” continues. In late March a regular sponsor of The People’s Project purchased two artillery fire control systems for the 55th Artillery Brigade. The gunners call them “yellow suitcases” due to the color of the cases the systems are kept in. These “suitcases” are already being used by two units of the brigade and now another unit will benefit from all the advantages the systems offer. With them the artillery can deliver their “gifts” to the other side rapidly and accurately as the system saves a lot of time in preparation and adjustment.
The complex consists of a professional weather station and computer. The meteorological station transmits accurate data on temperature, wind speed and direction, and atmospheric pressure. All data is transmitted to a portable computer. The system takes into account the gun model, type, weight and flight trajectory of ammunition. This results in the military having accurate data for aiming fire. Simultaneously, the system can calculate data in five shooting directions. The accuracy of artillery fire using the system increases dramatically.
The decision to buy a third system by the sponsor came after receiving positive feedback from the artillery. The system works excellently and Ukrainian gunners are finding their “gifts” always reach their recipients.
The military have already had training in the use the system and now can enjoy all the benefits it offers.
