And to our snipers again.
According to the latest information of the Ukrainian military intelligence, more combat groups of Russian snipers have arrived in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas. These killers have been continuously trained by professional Russian military institutions: coached by Russian army officers they come here to pass their tests on living targets, that is they’ve been trained to master their assassin skills on Ukrainians. While we were busy celebrating our Christmas and New Year festivities, the occupiers arranged their front line positions to hunt down our fighters and locals, as well as provoke back fire.
And we have suffered losses again: as we informed you earlier, on the 5th of January, an enemy sniper killed our fighter. The tragedy happened in the Luhansk Oblast where a terrorist sniper shot down Serhii Ratsun, a serviceman with the Kholodnyi Yar 93rd Brigade.
We have to emphasize that unless our snipers’ work, such tragic news would have been occurring with more frequency. As our sniper groups are constantly working in the forefront being engaged in counter sniper activities during which they ensure ultimate “test marks” for the terrorists right in their forehead. In our turn we, the volunteers of People’s Project, use every opportunity to assist our snipers, to support their activities to make their job as effective as possible. Before the New Year we bought and sent a kit of optics for a sniper squad which is a part of an army brigade. Those guys haunt the enemy using live-bait: our machine gunner reacts on enemy fire, enters the duel drawing enemy fire to himself. Meanwhile, our snipers are in a waiting game, and as soon as the enemy discloses himself, they immediately persuade him to stop his deadly practice. And the optics’ role is to ensure our machine gunner’s safety, for him to be able to destroy the enemy firing points with his accurate and precise backfire.
This very purchase has been processed at the expense of the I Am Sniper project. Within this initiative, we’ve been raising funds contributed by sympathetic people to buy the equipment and gear for our snipers that due to various reasons cannot be purchased via official channels, or cannot be provided within standard supply system. Still, this equipment provides our fighters with reasonable advantage in a battle allowing to eliminate the enemy within performance-benchmarking distances. The stuff we send includes optics, body kits, and the rest of necessary equipment without which our sniper could hardly compete with an enemy opponent effectively enough.

This is the optics which always remains in demand: shooters of two other SpecOp sniper teams have requested similar stuff for their work as well. Although this way of catching enemy snipers by a live-bait proves highly dangerous for our fighters, especially for a machine gun operator, still it remains the most effective one. Besides, they also need specific timing devices to improve their range-finding skills for more accuracy in shooting.
A while ago, within the same project we also sent silencers for top rifle models to our snipers. These devices suppress the sound of a shot to prevent unmasking the position of our sniper
Other shooters asked us to support them with an optics adapter: this gear works like a periscope that enables a shooter to adjust targeting within a vertical range, in a considerably wider angle than conventional optics allows. This device is rather costly, still it ensures accurate work and precise targeting within the distance of one kilometer and more. Perhaps you recollect our news from 2017 in which we informed you about a record shot made for a 3540 meters distance made by a Canadian sniper in Iraq: this one was performed using a similar adapter.
These pocket range finders, small but powerful and expensive devices, also did lots of good services to our snipers. They’re quite handy and easy to use: a sniper has just take out the device and press a button to get the exact distance to a target in meters
