Dear friends, we’ve got some good news for you. Recently, Mr. Volodymyr, a patient of the Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded project, has paid another visit to the clinic. We are not going to retell his whole story as it I can be easily found via the link. Volodymyr is a fighter with the 30th Mechanized Brigade. On July, 30, 2014, along with his comrades he was carrying flame thrower operators to the position that had not been cleared of the russian occupiers yet. On their way, they got under fire near Savur Mohyla. An enemy bullet destroyed Mr. Volodymyr’s arm.
Despite the fact Mr. Volodymyr completed his course of treatment, there seems practically no limit in improving things. In addition, Mr. Volodymyr needed to get his results slightly corrected: within the Project we restored his arm that had been injured by an enemy bullet, but following the healing, the fighter’s bones fused up improperly which resulted in impossibility to naturally extend the limb.
That’s why the doctors of the Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded project performed another operation in the course of which properly adjusted the bones forming an elbow joint, and and installed the Ilizarov apparatus on the arm again. Yet this time the arm is expected to be extend fully soon making Mr. Volodymyr able to live a full normal life!
We have already paid for both main and additional courses of treatment at the expense of your donations. Our shared efforts have resulted in a positive outcome which became the man’s second chance. Still we have a few more guys who need our support within the Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded project. That’s why we urge you to join in and continue participation in the initiative. As together we are implementing an important and very useful mission!
