Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov illegally jailed in Russia, has been on hunger strike claiming the demand to set free all Ukrainian political prisoners, for forty days.
The director’s lawyer, Dmytro Dinze, on visiting Sentsov on the 21st of June, informed that his client was placed in a single cell of the colony’s medical unit. The imprisoned has heart and kidney problems. As the colony’s medics testify, the director may suffer critical condition within the next few days.
Now Sentsov drinks 3.5l of water and takes a drip of glucose, amino acids and vitamins on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, another Ukrainian illegally imprisoned by Russia, Oleksandr Kolchenko, who stopped his hunger strike on the 8th of June, demands to meet the Verkhovna Rada’s ombudsperson on human rights Lyudmila Denysova, a human rights activist Mykola Schur informs.
“As before, Sasha has still been in a medical unit. Still now he shares the cell with another so called prisoner. Today his weight is about 67kg. His every meal is being filmed on camera. He’s been allowed to see his mother for 28–30th of June (seems we need to start fund-raising to pay the cost of this visit)”, – the activist Mykola Schur wrote on his FB page.
The Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov has been being kept in poor conditions in a colony located way above the Arctic Circle. On the 14th of May he went on hunger strike with the requirement of immediate liberation of all Ukrainian political prisoners illegally held by the Kremlin.
Activists throughout the whole world continuously demand the release of all the Ukrainian political hostages illegally held by Russia.
