Dear friends, today Ukraine commemorates a horrible anniversary. Three years ago a leader of Donetsk terrorists announced the launch of offensive on Mariupol. “The offensive” started with a bloody terroristic attack: about 9:00 AM the eastern suburbs of Mariupol got under heavy rocket artillery fire.

The rockets that came from the side of the occupied territories, hit residential buildings, peaceful streets, a bank, a drugstore, a market and a number of other buildings that had no relation to any military objects. Under the shelling conducted by Russians, thirty civilians were killed and 128 people got wounded. Unfortunately, there were children among the killed.
Today, we have every reason to believe that preparation and implementation of the terroristic attack had been actively overseen and supervised by Russian military. The spotter who had been detained on the same evening, testified the fact. Information provided by Ukraine’s Security Service, confirms the same: the 5 Channel, a Ukrainian TV outlet, make public an intercepted audio in which the terrorists are discussing the details of their prospective attack.
After the shelling, the enemy Grad MLRS systems were partially destroyed by the Ukrainian artillery. Those terrorists who stayed alive, were urgently evacuated towards the Russian border within the temporarily occupied territories where their traces got lost, – still we are pretty sure that our Special Forces will reconstruct their paths to the last centimeter before the Russians and their military henchmen have faced the court hearings for their military crimes.
Well, we are going to remember that massacre forever. Still today we feel much more confident for Mariupol as this major Ukrainian port at the Black sea is under steadfast control. And this responsibility lies on the Ukrainian Marine Corps, and, in particular, on the Battalion commanded by a legendary Ukrainian officer Vadym Sukharevskyi. This is the division of brave men and women that have been holding defense of Mariupol and guarding the city’s frontiers for many years.
From the very first days of war, some terrorists boasted to wipe out the Marines and seize Mariupol. But everything went as expected: years of fruitless assaults by the drug addicted terrorists resulted in their numerous deaths, and the Marines have been holding their positions as securely as before. Still, let us take everything with due seriousness: even if any of terrorists take risks to repeat those bloody actions, we are positive that conjoint efforts of the Army and Special Forces will do everything to suppress such terrorist attack and eliminate its organizers physically at the very stage of its preparation. Actually, they used to try organizing similar attacks for several times, but got beaten off hard, fast and effectively.
Apart from this, the Marines have been carrying out a number of other missions: since the Battalion took their current positions, the frontline in the area has underwent certain major alterations to our advantage. In particular, this came as the reflection of Vadym’s personal attitude to war. He is a combat officer practicing an absolutely uncompromising approach to the enemy. That is why Vadym’s Marines have always been fighting terrorists back so hard, every time and at every opportunity.
