These eyes belong to one of the People’s Project Volunteer Center’s oldest friends. A trooper with one of the Special Forces units we have been supporting for a number of years, has come over to see us. Happy to know that all our guys were doing well, we had a warm chat and enjoyed listening to loads of the latest stories on military life told by him. Such a warn feeling, still unfortunately we cannot share any pictures of their faces now – it will be possible only in some time on completion of the war.
Also we have met another old friend of ours. A while ago this Nissan was purchased by our permanent anonymous benefactor just for this specific unit’s needs. When we saw the vehicle for the first time, we got appalled at its miserable condition: the UAV desperately needed fundamental reconstruction and maintenance.
All the works on its service and repair were performed at the expense of our personal savings. So this inevitably resulted in a somewhat particular attitude toward this vehicle. However, the investment has proved exceptionally worthwhile again and again: despite the three years of effective performance on the forefront, the vehicle still looks like a brand new one.
For all these three years the UAV has been serving our military humbly and honestly. Its body is well acquainted to blood: the vehicle was used both to evacuate wounded soldiers and to deliver Special Forces troopers to their combat operations destinations. Now it has left the ATO zone as it requires certain routine maintenance and repair. Hopefully on accomplishment of restorative works it will serve our fighters well again, saving lives of the soldiers if necessary (hopefully, there will be no need for that!) and assisting them in their job.
We are sincerely thankful to everyone who made their benevolent donations into the «Rapid Response» project’s account. It is your contributions as well as generosity of individual benefactors, that have been allowing us both to buy this particular vehicle and satisfy the crucial needs of our military fighting in the forefront, for the fourth consecutive year in a row.
