In terms of The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Project we are dealing with the consequences of the wounds, injuries, inefficient methods of the state hospital doctors, osteomyelitis, dozens of surgeries and months of painful and vain expectations. But today’s news is much more optimistic.

Sergiy is one of our most difficult patients. Just few days before his little son Andriy was baptized. Sergiy watched the ceremony from a hospital bed via the video connection. The godmother is the volunteer Maria Vertetska. She came from Spain to the L’viv region, where the ceremony took place. She was the one, who did everything possible to send Sergiy to rest in Spain after the injury, and receive adequate medical care. More on this in video by Channel 5.
And now, after the resultless treatment in state hospitals and some rehabilitation in Spain, Sergiy is treated at The Ilaya Clinic in Kyiv, where specialists grown for him the new femur. He is joking, that he will be learning to walk along with his newborn son. But the joke is sad and it is on him, because the treatment process is long and painful, so Sergiy will be actually learning to walk again. But this totally worth it, because he’ll be able to walk without any crutches or prosthesis.
Only cellular technology and people’s donations give Sergiy hope for the recovery
The high-tech treatments was made possible by the synergy and joined effort of many communities. The volunteers of The People’s Project, who already paid a significant part of the bills for the treatment of Sergiy at the expense of people’s donations.The associations of Ukrainians living in Spain, who provide all possible assistance and support for the wounded defenders of Ukraine. Those communities collected a significant amount of money for the treatment of Sergiy. And the doctors of The Ilaya Clinic, who use the technology, that is unique for Ukraine and is used only at The Ilaya Clinic.
We sincerely hope that Sergiy will have many other enjoyable events ahead, related to the children and grandchildren. But many other wounded soldiers also need a support. The state budget does not finance the treatment of the soldiers with the help of the cellular technology. So the wounded defenders of Ukraine can get back to normal life only at the expense of the people’s donations.
