During celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, President Petro Poroshenko capped two new Heroes of Ukraine. Named as Knights of the Order “Golden Star” were Colonel Andriy Kobalchuk and Captain Valeriy Chubinyeyev. We congratulate the pair on being awarded the highest national title of the country. We are even more pleased that Valeriy Chybinyeyev was named as it is his unit, the sniper’s division of the 79th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we periodically help – providing a variety of equipment. In fact, we only recently delivered to the unit a brand new imager.
Valeriy only found out about the award an hour before the ceremony. The day before Valeriy and his unit were on duty on one of the front’s hot spots – the industrial zone near Avdiivka. Valeriy under various pretexts was one asked to participate in the parade the day before the celebrations. Though he was tired and sleepy after the journey to the capital, he was buoyed by the sight of all the people gathered as he received the award.
We in no way claim any role in the well-deserved honor of the young hero, but we do take pride in the fact that, thanks to your donations, we are able to equip his unit. This award makes feel – our collective efforts are not in vain.
Unfortunately, not all future heroes of Ukraine on the front lines have everything they need. Get involved in the project Rapid Response, and your donations will help provide the best equipment to those guys who stand guard over Ukraine’s peace and security.
The Rapid Response project is designed to boost the maximum combat effectiveness of units fighting to hold positions and block the invaders from further advance. It is thanks to your donations Ukraine’s defenders are provided with much-needed equipment as quickly as possible.
