This week, during intense fighting, our volunteers, managed to deliver equipment to men who are longing to leave the combat zone due to being under constant attack. And our volunteers were on the scene to witness a machine gunner wounded.
The road in the video leads to Zaitseve. To the right is the gray zone and 400 meters beyond it are seperatist positions. Owners have abandoned their home, but the territory they stand on is still held by the Ukainian side.The flag was raised by Ukrainian military under the cover of darkness. The seperatists dare not attempt to take the risk to remove it, because they are afraid they will fall into a trap.
The video was filmed by our volunteers. They were in the process of making a delivery to Zaitseve when the came under fire.
Eventually they managed to deliver many devices, which were requested by the 53rd brigade. The cost of the equipment amounted to 500,000 UAH.
Fighting for Zaitseve goes on unabated. Volunteers describe the situation as follows:
“The other day, just while we unloading of the vehicles carrying our gear, Russian terrorists started firing large caliber weapons.” In this 20-second video you hear a bullet fly by next to our volunteer. “This is it – the so-called ‘truce’…And we are getting a taste of the horror the locals and our defenders live with every day.
So us guys miraculously made it and everything went so smoothly. However, shells wounded a machine gunner with the call sign ‘Myent’.”
The situation is such the Ukrainian fighters are getting little respite from the fighting and are beginning to feel trapped at the front.
Ukraine’s military always try to avoid these situations and assess the possibility mounting a more effective defense. But they lack the technical equipment to adequately assess. We regularly receive list of equipment needed from the men and then update the project Rapid Response.
