The Newcon LRB 6000 CI rangefinder we delivered to the artillery of 55th Brigade was field-tested recently. For us it was very important to hear the military’s opinion, confirmation from them of the benefits and functionality of the specific device. Rangefinders are fairly expensive, in fact and we are planning to buy a few more as part of this project.
The military confirmed the rangefinder is very easy to use, accurately measures the distance to objects and the velocity of moving targets. The fact that to use this rangefinder does not need any additional skills is very important. Fifteen minutes were enough for the guys to learn how to use it, and within an hour they had figured out how to use all of the rangefinder modes. The device is lightweight,, making its use by artillery reconnaissance and by artillery spotters very convenient.
Maybe not all people understand how important a rangefinder is for artillery and why they need them so much. Volunteers from the Victory Sisters asked a professional member of the artillery who underwent artillery training to speak about this device and its usefulness in battle.
