The BAT-2 – Soviet tracklayer is based on the MT_T tractor. Designed in Kharkiv’s Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau, only a limited number were produced.
The BAT-2 is designed to:
– Move ground when transitioning through gullies and ditches;
– Arrange descents to crossings;
– Clear routes of shrubs, trees, stumps, rocks and snow;
– Create passes through rubble, woods and towns;
– Stacking blocks for road bridge structures;
– Digging ditches at trenches;
– Digging passes in areas contaminated by radioactive substances.
Today two repaired BAT 2 machines were handed over to the armed forces. The repairs took a considerable amount of time as we had to restore practically everything: the electrical control circuit, the engine cooling system, deal with the fuel system and carry out welding work on the body and mechanics. Given the military provided now technical documentation or instructions, we had to figure out everything ourselves.
It should be noted the organizers and workers literally fell in love with these machines. The technology is absolutely unique. In the video it can be clearly seen the vehicle floats beautifully. This is despite the fact that it weighs 40 tonnes. The engineering opportunities offered by the vehicle (bulldozer, crane, hoist, raising soil), in our opinion are perfect. The bulldozer has several provisions to change the dump angle (bucket). By changing the angle, the BAT-2 can uproot trees in its way, clear snow, move soil, dig a ditch. The crane is able to lift 2 tonnes of cargo to a height of 7 meters and rotate 360 degrees and the winch can pull 25 tonnes from a distance of 100 meters.
Generally, it in a multi-purpose tool that performs almost any necessary task war.
We are very pleased to have been able to give these titans a new lease of life. At this difficult time for all of us they are once again ready to serve the country.
We also have something to say to those who did everything they could to transform these beautiful machines into scrap, you have messed with the wrong people, we will keep working.
